I am a Mepham alumni but met Mr.Barris at Jerusalem Ave Junior High School as a transfer from Catholic school. It was a difficult transition and Mr.Barris was very sensitive to my struggle. He even gave me a stack of “hall passes” (as they were needed if you were walking the halls during class time) whenever I ever needed to go see him! I will never forget this understanding and gentle man… you truly made a difference, Mr. Barris. May you rest peacefully
