It was Dec. 1979, and you were standing in your driveway holding a nerf football and we started a catch. That was the beginning of countless childhood memories of us growing up in Bellmore and a friendship that would span 45 years. I can’t think of my childhood without thinking of you and now I can’t believe you’ve passed on. It didn’t matter if we didn’t talk for a while as soon as we spoke again, we didn’t miss a beat. Lately we have spent hours on the phone reminiscing, laughing like kids and being there for each other through the rough times. It was a privilege to have you and your family in my life growing up. You will be deeply missed but always loved. Someday we will pick up that game of catch again. Until we meet again your forever friend Anthony.

I am deeply sorrowed by your passing Lou. We've known each other since the summer of 1986 (working at the "Creek") and have since spent many memorable times together just hanging out, going on road trips, meeting-up for a weekend of football, double dating, playing 3-par golf at Robert Moses, visiting me at college, going to a NY Yankees game, renting charter boats or just a simple skiff at Captain Eddie's for a fishing trip, eating All American burgers and White Castles too (you beat me in an eating contest by a bite ...13 White Castles to your 13 and a bite), going to concerts (Van Halen and INXS), being a groomsman, and of course talking through our problems, accomplishments and life. You will be missed by many and will never be forgotten. As I've told you many times .... you're a legend. You're "Sweet Lou" and one of "The Guys". Rest in peace my friend and until we meet again, I will be thinking of you often and always favorably. You were like a brother to me. - Dobs

Lou - my favorite brother-in-law. I have so many happy memories of you. Way too many to share and overwhelming to think of. I truly wish you had more time to be healthy, be happy and to fully live life. I met you when I was 15 years old and am glad that you were part of my life. I hope you are at peace. I looked forward to playing the music game with you once again. Thanks for playing! Give Coco a hug from me when you meet her at the bridge. You are loved. You are missed. -Chris

I was so saddened when I heard the news of Lou’s passing. He was a good friend and coworker for 20+ years. He trained me when I first started working in the field in ‘97 for what was then Bell Atlantic. I rode in his truck for two weeks straight and we bonded over sports and especially football/ Steelers talk. Lou, two other coworkers and I would end up going to a Jets-Steelers game that season and having so much fun together that it became an annual tradition for us for over ten years. He also participated in my fantasy football league every year for. Lou will always be remembered as a great guy and awesome coworker and I'm sad to hear that he’s gone. My prayers and blessings go out to his family.
