Through the years John has been a great friend to me. I first met him in Chicago when he was visiting clients with another friend of mine. I later worked for John in Los Angeles and lived with him in Redondo Beach for awhile before buying my own place in California.. When I called John to tell him I was moving back to New York City, he said, "Joe, this is your lucky day. The guy renting my co-op on the upper East side just moved out and you can move right in." He was trying his hand at pizza making down South at the time. We would talk every once in awhile but after I left New York, the calls became less frequent and we lost touch with one another. I was so sad to hear this news. He was a really good person.

I worked with John for a few years in Manhattan. We had a lot of laughs together. He had a wonderful sense of humor. He will be missed. Rest in peace.

We were all very sad to hear of John's passing. John was a founding member of a group of tennis players who played Sunday mornings in Chapel Hill. He was kind enough to invite me to join. 11 years later, the group is still going strong. I'll always be grateful to him for that.
