Joseph W. Schmitt, age 91, on Sunday, January 22, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Agnes. Loving father of Rosemary, Dolores Butler (Robert Kristofik), Arthur (Katherine), Peter (Donna), Susan Connors (Edward), son in law Warren Kenny and the late Theresa Kenny. Cherished Pop Pop of 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday from 7-9:30pm and Thursday, from 2-4pm & 7-930pm at Clair S. Bartholomew & Son, Inc., 302 So. Bedford Ave., Bellmore, NY. Mass of Christian burial will be held 9:45am on Friday, January 27, 2017 at St. Barnabas R.C. Church, Bellmore, NY. Interment at Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Joseph's name to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Charities or the American Cancer Society.
