Obituary of Ruth D. McClean

Ruth D. McClean, age 98, of Rockville Centre, on Tuesday, May 9, 2017.

She is survived by four sons: Roger McClean (Ginny), Ronald McClean (Beatriz), Scott McClean (Mary), and Brian McClean (Joseph). She is also survived by 13 Grandchildren, 9 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great Grandchild.

Always punctual and quite feisty and spunky and although she had a hard exterior Ruth had a huge heart and quick walk; she never would sit still for long.  She worked as a waitress/cashier well into her 80s then kept busy by helping out Ginny at Have You Heard? wrapping, counting and finding anything to keep her active and productive until 93 years of age.  Up until age 97 Ruth volunteered at a local food pantry bagging fruit and vegetables for those in need.

She will be missed by her many friends and her large and loving family.

Visiting hours will be Friday, May 12th from 2-4 & 7-9:30pm at Clair S. Bartholomew & Son, Inc., 302 So. Bedford Ave., Bellmore, NY.

Funeral service Saturday May 13th at 11am at the funeral home.

The family has requested that family and friends wishing to attend visitation wear something blue in Ruth's memory.
