Obituary of Michael G. Ollek
Michael Gregory Ollek of Bellmore, New York died on June 10, 2017.
Mike was born on August 18, 1965 to Patricia F. Link and Paul Ollek. After graduating from Wantagh High School he then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served for four years as a Staff Sergeant stationed in Camp Pendleton and then in the reserves for many years thereafter.
Mike then worked for 17 years for the Long Island Railroad, first as track man and most recently as track Foreman.
His greatest pride was his family, specifically his sons Michael and Daniel. He loved spending time with his boys whether it be on the water, sailing, or on land, riding dirt bikes. Mike was a history buff who loved skiing.
Michael is survived by his mother, his two sons and one brother: Patricia Link, Michael and Daniel Ollek and Kevin Link. Michael is also survived by cousin Chris Taylor, in addition to many other friends and family.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Clair S. Bartholomew and Son at 302 So. Bedford Avenue in Bellmore. The family will receive friends at 10:00 am-11:30 am, followed by a short service from 11:30-12:00 pm.
