Obituary of Victoria Susan Sorrentino
Victoria Susan Sorrentino (“Viki”)
Viki gave her final curtain call on Monday, October 12, 2020. It all began when Viki stole the show at Bellmore’s “Little Miss Carvel” contest where she then went on to sing at community events, St. Barnabas Church, and NYC’s cabaret circuit.
Viki held her B.S. in music education and her M.S. in early childhood development from C.W. Post where she was a proud member of the music department. Viki traveled the world singing with Post’s Madrigal Singers and Vocal Jazz Group. When Viki wasn’t singing, she was teaching kindergarten at Grand Avenue Elementary School in Baldwin. Viki also recently launched her cake pop business, “Victoria’s Delectable Sweets”, where she brought sweet treats to neighborhood cafés.
Viki was a child at heart. She was kind, compassionate, and always knew how to listen when you needed her. She loved animals and planned to adopt a fur baby in the spring. Viki enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved to travel. She especially loved her “mom & me” shopping dates. Viki was a big fan of Disney, blowing bubbles, anything sparkly, and always full of smiles.
In her final moments, Viki celebrated her 47th birthday at home with her family. The night was filled with love, laughter, cake pops, and, of course, music. Viki was a proud sister, daughter, aunt, girlfriend, friend, and neighbor. She had big plans for the future that we must all keep alive in our hearts. Her time on this earth was not long, but the impact she made was powerful. She was loved by all and will be sorely missed.
