Joan Auletti – A Woman on the Forefront
Summing up a life in a small piece of parchment is in fact a Herculean task. To say Joan was a warm and cuddly person would raise the eyebrows of everyone who knew her. To say she was brilliant, kind, generous, well educated, independent, and adored her cats would be far more accurate.
Joan was on the forefront of the computer revolution excelling as a computer programmer and systems analyst. She was one of the earlier women who joined a completely male dominated field and rose to a high level of success. Her logic and mathematical skills were matched by few which attributed to her rise through the rungs the corporate computer ladder.
A devoted spouse to Joseph, they built a quiet life together and supported each other throughout their lives. They shared roller skating and were in fact quite impressive in the rink. Joan was also an avid reader and was always on top of events. She researched things to the benefit of anyone who needed information and was particularly good at finding the finest doctors to care for her and Joe throughout their marriage.
Joan handled the household and Joe literally built the houses. A perfect match of brains and mechanical skills. They loved cats and always had stories about their feline children.
Now it is time for Joan to be free of the tough road she traveled in her final years. The pain is gone, her independence is back which was how she lived.
Rest in Peace
Love,
Ron Tomo
